When disguising a horse as any other mob, you can still mount it, but all of the horse functionality disappears. e.g. you cannot move, or equip a saddle.

edit: Problem also occurs with disguised pigs - mounting them and trying to use a carrot on a stick leads to them standing still

Yeah this really sucks. Please add it as a feature!

Not possible, the client doesn't send the control packets if it doesn't think you're riding a horse or pig.
